If you get the notion to give your lover some lotion make sure it’s a potion for romance.
One of the oldest traditions in relationships is giving a gift to your love one; whether it’s your spouse, partner or lover.
In our material society the giving of gifts has become a commercial enterprise. Every time some holiday comes along we are bombarded with ads suggesting what we should give and how much we should spend. Celebrating with gift giving on birthdays and traditional holidays can be planned and expected but don’t necessarily add romance to the relationship.
However, giving gifts doesn’t have to be prescribed. In fact, the best and most appreciated gifts are the homemade ones that come spontaneously from the heart when there’s no special occasion. Some of the best romance gifts don’t cost any money at all. Anything done out of the ordinary can mean a lot to your significant other; such as cleaning, vacuuming, doing the dishes, laundry or taking the kids out of the house to give the other parent some quiet time. Inexpensive gifts such as a candle, a note or card left conspicuously all add a touch of heartfelt emotion. A shell from the beach or a interestingly shaped stone from the creek can be an delightful present to the nature lover.
Another romantic gift would be to take your sweetheart out to lunch unexpectedly or make a phone call in the middle of the day simply to say “I love you.” Email and text messages are also convenient ways of romantic communication.
And by all means, don’t forget to simply TALK. Give the gift of self expression. Tell your mate why you believe he or she is special to you. Don’t forget to compliment. Everyone loves to hear they are attractive in some way.
