Ladies, do you worry that your husband or significant other looks at other women? Be very worried—98% of them do! Visual attraction is important, and you can do something about it.
Men are visual creatures and an attractive, well-dressed woman with a great figure is a magnet that will draw their attention. Even happily married men are instinctually pulled to visually partake.
What to do? First, understand that it is normal for men to be attracted to beauty. Then put some attention on your own. Make an effort to enhance your attractiveness to your husband. When you do, it will be easier and more equitable for them to “only have eyes for you”.
Our husbands want and need to be proud of us. They want their friends to think that they did well. While they may choose not to verbalize it, they notice when we are complacent and sloppy—slouching around the house in baggy sweats with uncombed hair and no makeup except when we’re going out. Conversely, since they are so visual, seeing us taking care of ourselves makes them feel loved, cared for and valued. It doesn’t matter if we’re not a size 2 or that we don’t weigh the same we did the day we met; it’s the effort we make.
If you doubt your man notices or cares about your efforts, think about this romance-related parallel: If you see him putting effort into a romantic experience for you, does it matter if it’s perfect? If you come home at the end of the day and he’s cleaned the house, put on your favorite music and cooked you dinner, does it matter if your steak is more medium than well done? Make the effort.
